[The Perfect Girl]

She was the perfect girl. Beautiful in every way. She had grace, style, and was full of poise. She was charming, charismatic, and was the idol of every girl. She won the adoration of many of her friends, guys and girls alike. She posessed many good qualities--kind, caring, compassionate, forgiving, loving, sincere, generous, good natured, soft spoken, well tempered, quick-witted, easy going, open minded, honest, tactful...etc...Many MANY good qualities such as these. She was talented in almost every single way, for she was granted with many gifts from God. Above all these traits that she had, she brought fun, laughter and joy to the hearts of everyone. Everyone who knew her thought her as a bubbly, lively, and a happy-go-lucky peace loving girl. She was the love doctor, the heart consoler, the sunshine after the rain.

Everybody loved her for who she was, although not many people really understood her, for she was unique and different from everyone else. Rarely was she unhappy, for she always thought that life was to be enjoyed in every single way, and that happiness in life should not be destroyed by any unhappy event that occured. So she preserved beautiful memories of everyday life, and discarded the few unhappy moments. So for many years, this special girl spent her life as a carefree person, basking in love and happiness.

However, life decided to go against her one day.

She had been deeply in love with the man of her dreams...Tall..Dark..Handsome...Prince Charming..but the best part about him was that he had many good qualities, and he was a kind and suave cassanova. Needless to say, they both got along very well, and in the eyes of many, they seemed like the perfect prince and princess pair, the lovey dovey couple. Girls admired them, the guys were jealous of them.

They spoke words of silence, for they understood each other well enough to actually communicate with few words. All they knew was that they were very happy, and they loved each other dearly.

But since that unfateful day, their happiness was shortlived. He, the knight in shining armour, bought her a ring for their anniversary. She on the other hand, set the table with candlesticks, prepared for dinner, waiting anxiously. He called back to say that he would be late, for he was caught in a jam.

She waited patiently as seconds crawled slowly on her skin Swatch. The doorbell rang. " Postman," the man yelled from behind the door.
"SURPRISE!" He yelled as she opened the door with a start.
"Why..oh my..goodness gracious. I thought you would be late?"
" Its a surprise aint it! Happy anniversary darling.." he chuckled as he swung her off her feet and gave her a foot-popping kiss.

Then, she noticed a familiar yet unfamiliar fuzzy peach- flavoured scent on his body. The kind that her sister wore. That distinct limited edition, fuzzy peach perfume, summer kind. Yes. Then, she noticed a tiny orange stain on his shirt. Orange? She never wore orange. She only wore scarlet. What was orange lipstick doing on his shirt? As much as she wanted to trust him, her doubt grew. She knew that their relationship had to be based on trust. But, Orange? PEACH? NO way. NO WONDER, she thought, her sister had been calling up so often to chit chat for fun.

At the dinner table, she threw forth a few questions regarding her suspicion. There were two things in life she could not tolerate. One, was the use of unpleasant words or vulgarities. Two, men cheating on women, for she had consoled many girls who had been cheated by their men. And now, she questioned her husband's fidelity. He hesitated each time he answered her questions. Unable to handle his wife's sudden burst of questions on their anniversary, as his guilt was overwhelming him, he stood up and said , " I want a divorce."

"You want a what?"
"You heard me. A divorce."
"Why? I've never done anything wrong. I've never even shouted at you once my dear."
"Well, thats precisely it. Of all the girls I've seen before, you are the only one who doesnt nag at me, who doesnt complain about a single thing! Youre too perfect for me! Im just not used to this! Yes, i admit it, im with your sister. We've been seeing each other for the past 4 months. At least she has flaws. Here's your ring."

He walked out of the house.

"How unreasonable was he,"she thought. " Could there actually exist such a person on earth? One who could not accept her for who she was, even though she knew that they both were very much in love, or was he just taking her on a ride? Till this day, she still doesnt know the answer.

Ever since that day, the perfect girl was no longer perfect. She loved him too much to let him go. Yet she knew that she had to, for she could not get him back. She had misjudged him, or had she not? She never did blame him once for his unreasonableness. She only loved him more for his faults instead. Silly. Too loving perhaps.

Her happiness was taken away. Snatched.Seized away from her. Almost every bit of it. She had been hurt from her unfaithful, unreasonable husband. She started locking herself up in her room every night, crying. He never came home for the next few days. She never ate for the next few days too.

By the time her tears had dried up, she had already changed into a completely new person. A sad lonely girl. She slowly accepted the fact that he could no longer accept her. But she was still badly affected.

Unable to express herself, for she had even cried all she could, she decided to cut herself. She took the paper penknife from the stationary drawer. She sliced her wrist slowly, allowing blood to ooze out slowly from her wounds. Making sure each cut was deep enough for the pain to come out, so that her pain could leave her body through the cut. She had sliced almost every single spot on her left arm until it was badly mutilated with cuts. She felt much happier each time she cut herself for her pain could exit. This went on for weeks until one day when she could finally get a hold of herself, she went on with life as how it used to be in the beginning. She had changed, changed so much, that it would take a long time to get her back to be the perfect girl that every one loved her for. Now, she lives life with many complaints and much unhappiness, as she slowly recovers. The perfect girl is no longer perfect. She is, imperfect.
