Monday, August 09, 2004 ( give me a break @ Monday, August 09, 2004 ) great.so much for preserving singapore's heritage..the heritage of my tiny little hometown is almost disappearing. started wif the fire a few years ago which razed half the market to the ground...but ever since the renovations seletar market has been bustling with activity, although not like before.. and today..just when i was craving a Big Breakfast from macs..macdonalds had to be torn down! what kinda crap is that?!Thats MACDONALDS..not just ANY macdonalds u noe..its the Seletar Macdonalds..its the one where i held the ribbon when Mister Ronald came to declare it open..it was the place which saw me through my hunger wars..it was the one that saw me through my O levels and some butt-kicking exams..and even the place where i shared those lovely moments with..erm..forget it. so whats this crap about preserving heritage when whats the identity of Seletarians is gone! and the rest of the market is going to be torn down by the end of the month..so where we gonna flock to for our daily staples and stuff..gee..i'll definitely miss the market and the marketeers..and the once present blueberry cakeshop where i had my birthday cakes with gel on them..--in loving memory of Seletar Market-- Ingenue-Inspired.Intrigued.Ineffable affection. 0 comments |
