( Passion of the heart, power of the mind @ Saturday, August 28, 2004 )
After flippin thru the straits times 2 days ago, i found something i really yearned for. the article featured nurses in Alexandra hospital, changing out of their Nightingale suits, and keeping the ill aged company. Well, these elderly are usually terminally ill, and they have no kid nor kin to turn to, even so, some of them may have their family members overseas. just as the article said. " no one wants to die alone, its the fear of the unknown" . so i figured. thats exactly what i wanted. I've always thought, hospice hospice hospice. but maybe to start off, i should try workin with the elderly. ok. its not right for me to choose. after being a volunteer for so many years, working mostly with the intellectually disabled, i guess why i've become inclined to look after the elderly was cos of granny. Its not right for me to have a preference. not that i dislike working with kids or the disabled, but i think its a calling for me , to work with the elderly instead. or those who are towards the other end of life. they need a supporting pillar. a voice. comfort.joy.peace out.
im working towards this dream. hopefully if its meant to be, i'll fulfil it.
Ingenue-Inspired.Intrigued.Ineffable affection.
